At 7 a.m. on December 18, the Lao Cai City Meteorological Station observed the lowest temperature down to 12.8 degrees Celsius; Pho Rang (Bao Yen) is at 12.3 degrees Celsius. Bac Ha mountains are 7.4 degrees Celsius. Sa Pa town dropped to 2 degrees Celsius. According to Lao Cai Provincial Hydro-Meteorological Station, from 17/02 12, strong cold air continued to strengthen over Lao Cai, causing the temperature in areas in the province to drop sharply compared to the previous day, causing frost in in Sapa Vietnam and some highland areas. Particularly, the temperature in Fansipan mountain area dropped below 0 degrees Celsius.
