The Prime Minister approved the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on behalf of the Government to sign the dossier of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex near Tam Coc Ninh Binh and submit it to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). ) for consideration and inclusion in the World Heritage List. The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with Vietnam’s National Committee for UNESCO to carry out the necessary procedures to send the dossier to UNESCO.
Previously, on September 27, 2011, Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex near Tam Coc Ninh Binh was allowed by the Government to build a dossier to submit to UNESCO for consideration and recognition as a World Natural Heritage according to two natural criteria. 7 (for aesthetic value, landscape) and criterion 8 (for geological and geomorphological value). Trang An landscape complex (Trang An) includes 3 conservation areas: Special national relic of Hoa Lu Ancient Capital; Special national relic Trang An – Tam Coc – Bich Dong scenic spots and Hoa Lu special-use forest were ranked by the Government at the special national level on May 10, 2012.
The total area of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex near Tam Coc Ninh Binh is 4,000 ha, occupying the entire Trang An limestone block and surrounded by an 8,000 ha buffer zone consisting mainly of rice fields. Trang An scenic complex has a geological age of about 250 million years, through a long period of weathering by the change of the earth, climate, sea advance, sea retreat has brought in hundreds of valleys and caves.
