Mussel rice in Vietnamese cuisine

Hailing from Hue, this local specialty in Vietnamese cuisine is prepared with cooked clams or mussels and steamed rice

Toppings for this simple rice dish include peanuts, cilantro (coriander), chili peppers, fermented shrimp paste, star fruit, banana flowers, taro, fried onions, fried pork skin, roasted sesame or more.

In addition, mussel rice in  Vietnamese cuisine also has a bowl of clam broth served and it can also be served with rice according to many people’s preferences.
