Đinh Liễn

Dinh Lien or Dinh Khuong Lien, was a prince of the Dinh dynasty, the eldest son of Dinh Bo Linh, the Emperor who founded the Dinh dynasty in Vietnamese history.

He was once sent by Dinh Bo Linh as a hostage at the Co Loa near Tam Coc Ninh Binh court for 15 years, then followed his father to defeat 12 warlords and even replaced his father in relations with China. When Dinh Bo Linh proclaimed Emperor in Hoa Lu near Tam Coc Ninh Binh, he was ordained Nam Viet King but was not chosen to be Crown Prince, but instead was Dinh Hang Lang, another young son of Dinh Bo Linh.

It was the abandonment of Dinh Lien to establish Xiang Lang, which led to the fact that Dinh Lien sent someone to kill Xiang Lang to contest the crown prince, a series of events that led later historians to criticize Dinh Bo Linh’s unwise decision. . In the end, he and his father were murdered in a controversial case in Hoa Lu near Tam Coc Ninh Binh, with the killer recorded in history books as a servant named Do Thich.
